Modlink.net LAN Questions

Postby tbwj21 » Fri Jul 30, 2004 7:35 am

Hey, I have a pretty stupid question but what the heck. I wanted to get the Nintendo Inc. LAN from modlink.net, and I downloaded it then put it in my Uplink directory and when I launched the game I couldnt find anything that has to do with nintendo when I browsed interNIC. Someone that knows what to do with dowloaded LANS and stuff help me?

What you need to do to add custom LANs to your links list is create the folder 'data' in your Uplink dir, then a 'lans' folder within that. Unzip your .txt LAN files to that dir, open the file, find the IP at the top and enter that into the IP lookup tool ingame. They won't appear in InterNIC, so the IP lookup is your only option.

Thanks, I am about to try what you said, just one more question, do I leave the LAN file a .txt file? Because when I downloaded it it wasnt a .txt file. Some are that I have downloaded, all I need to know is if you keep the LANS a .txt file when you go play Uplink.

Doesn't have to be, a lot of games just look for the filename and not the extension.

Don't (sigh) bump old topics.
