If Uplink had a revamp to port to console and DVD edition.

lets say we have uplink as it is now, then one day a big investor steps in and phones up Introversion HQ with an offer to redevelop thier uplink game and port it to Nextgen consoles (excluding the wii)

keyboard support mouse support will be avalible for the 360• & Ps3.

The game would compleatly look very up to date, and would event involve the ground story as audio / visual news feeds.

1000s more photos for your criminal & social securty database.
including retinal and fingerprints 1000s of unique ones.
(very CSI)

a rich story line, including online IRC style chat aswell as VoIP phonecalls to other players over xbox live & ps3's (untitled ver)

interactive macro hack editing to make hacks exe faster (would require you to learn the scripting system in game)

ablity to buy scripts from other players via the online script market.

this game wouldn't be 100% mulitiplayer or online atall only the comunity would be online.

^__^

after the storyline compleats from the original game new storylines can open up as you continue to improve your ablitys in game.

extra storys can be downloaded as patches ect.

it won't happen guys don't get too excited! but wouldn't it be awsome ^__^
also PC version would be avalible on DVD. with all new video & audio ect....

Some would argue what made Uplink so good was that it was small, but did a lot. Hell it can be made to fit on a floppy disk at the moment, but what you are suggesting seems to go the complete opposite direction.

Will it ever happen, no. Would it be good, maybe. But it wouldn't be Uplink.
