listen,
I've been discussing this over with my freind and i think it'l be a good idea to build a kind of a continue when you are not the hacker but the one who is being hacked to...

so what do you think

Erm in terms of a a game I'd say the scope is fairly limited, I mean, you'll just spend your life tracing people and that'll be about it...

Actually, no, I was working on a console-based game a while back where you built up security systems and defenses; 1 player played as the hacker and the other one as the defender.

It's still pretty flawed, though.
And has no AI.

That would be kind of amazin' actually

But you may not get as much thrill out of it as being the hacker.

But a good point, you cannot get a criminal record or traced, you are really ruining other peoples lives, the hacker.

So you say it is console based. I would suggest it being like uplink, but when you enter the username and password, on the security button, you could change stuff.
And on every compuer(you are the FBI) there would be the 'known access codes'.

Personally i would like to see your game work.

this would work better as multiplayer, witht a time limit, and players swapping roles after each time through, whoever has the most succesful hacks and the most amount of time they blocked the other hacker wins.
