How to destroy a site COMPLETELY

Postby Thirsk » Sun Oct 08, 2006 12:02 am

Hi, i got the game reccently and have come to the point where i get to those missions where you must shut down a site completely (i think you need experienced to auto-accept). I am in on the site, and can chose 3 diffrient options: Files, Logs, and Console. I've deleted every file, and every log, and it still wont accept the mission as done. I cant figure how to get the site down completely, but i quess its something about the console.
Any help would be appriciated

i think you may need to go to the console and delete the os.sys, boot.sys, and kernel.sys. then maybe restart the computer.

i haven't got one of those missions yet, but that's my guess.

In console:

Code: Select all

cd usr
delete
cd sys
delete
shutdown
Some people talk because they have something to say. Others talk because they have to say something.

(Spoilers!)

The easiest way of doing this is if you've got Revelation from ARC. If you have that, just clear some space in the file server, copy it there and then go to the console. In the console:

Code: Select all

cd usr
run Revelation

And voila, it will be destroyed.[/code]

I just:

run revelation

or
cd usr
delete
cd log
delete
cd sys
delete
shutdown

type any of these as fast as you can

As I've just described in another topic - above doesn't work for me. Completely. Dunno why

I see what you're getting at.

You need to fast forward time after you destroy your InterNIC logs.

Usual delay is 3 hours.

that usually works

but if you do

cd usr
delete
cd sys
delete
cd log
delete
shutdown

it usually works better, but you'll have to go back into the sys dir to shut it down i think

If you put CD LOG delete after it all then it deletes the traces of the sys delete

doesn't it..??

I use the Revelation method. Not only does it take much less time to actually execute than the console deletion method, but since Revelation is big news, infected servers show up on the news almost instantly, which means no waiting around before reporting your success.
