First email from ARC lies about alternate way of starting the story

So the first email you get from ARC tells you that you can reply to it to start working for them, or you can send an email to internal@ARC.net
I accidentally deleted the email from muscle memory, and found out to my horror that sending an email to internal@ARC.net (or internal@arc.net) gets you a 'failed to send' error, and apparently deleting the email that I deleted permanently locks you out of the storyline
Which sucks because I was doing really well for myself on that character
So yeah "Saying you can start the story via a method that doesn't let you start the story" seems like a pretty big oversight and/or bug
