Hi guys. I've looked around and haven't found any posted compatibility issues about Uplink on windows 7 (sorry if there is already a post)
The setup.exe doesn't seem to work. I have done the obvious: admin mode and tried compatibility in Windows 95, 98 and XP (SP2+3)
I am using the original disk from donkey's years ago so if this is an issue please feel free to shout at me.
Is there any other way of getting it working on Windows 7?
Thanks in advance!
Rob

had this problem once,
get the installer working (use Win98 or XPSP2 compatible mode), then when fully installed, Do not start the game.
download the latest patch (at time of writing, patch 1.54) from here http://www.introversion.co.uk/uplink/otherfiles.html , then install the patch, and disable the compatible mode, and it should work perfectly.
well at least does for me, Win 7 Ultimate x64.

So you try to install the old version from the CD? May I suggest you buy all the Introversion games from the Humble Introversion Bundle for some pocket change (around 7 days left at the time of writting).
Here a totally untested idea:
Download and install the latest version of 7-Zip (a very safe open source archive manager).
Try to extract the original installer with the help of 7-Zip.
Download the latest patch from the patch page.
Install the patch over the extracted files from the installer.
