No images? (Ubuntu 9.04)
Hello, I have this weird problem
I looked around but didn't find anything, I didn't use the search thingy tho.
Tried safemode and all that, it's the same error on all resolutions.
In the login menu the Retire, options and those buttons are visible but not the background of the login box, nor the big UPLINK icon.

Version 1.55. And I got it from the internet store (http://store.introversion.co.uk/product ... ucts_id=48)

As for your problem, I really don't know to be honest. I asked what version you had because, well, that's the first question for any problem.
I can only say a reinstall might work, otherwise wait for the pros to answer
Yeah, I was also suprised. I use that nick like everywhere.
Didn't help with a reinstall, playing with the demo didn't help either.
Tho when I start the installation for the game the terminal says something about libcanberra : P

It would also help to know what OS you are running (Linux, Win XP, Win Vista, Win 7, &c.). To me, it looks like the textures aren't being rendered, which points to a problem with the video card. You might try updating your drivers (or, if they are up to date, using alternate drivers, or downgrading to a previous version).

Was it along the lines of "Gtk-WARNING **: Failed to load module "libcanberra-gtk-module.so": libcanberra-gtk-module.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory"? If not, care to post the actual message?
Also, what's your graphics processor, and which driver(s) do have installed?

Yeah, that was the one "Gtk-WARNING **: Failed to load module "libcanberra-gtk-module.so": libcanberra-gtk-module.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory"
Display controller: Intel Corporation 82852/855GM Integrated Graphics Device (rev 02)
I don't know which drivers I got installed, I got the pre-installed intel stuff. Xorg.conf is almost empty.
Sadly, you may need to wait for frenchfrog to come along as you seem to have a similar problem to arl's and that doesn't seem to have been resolved. However, if you stick around and provide more information something may get done about it.

Yes, it's the same I think, we have the same graphics card and also get that libcanberra thingy.
I'll wait for frenchfrog!

Would be nice if you post the link =D
Here you go.
