How to get fraps running for uplink.

Postby Kim DotCom » Fri Oct 05, 2012 9:00 am

I've been having problems with getting fraps to work with uplink, here is how to FIX IT! :D

STEP 1: [OPTIONAL] REINSTALL Uplink v1.55 (Or whatever version you use)

STEP 2: [OPTIONAL] REINSTALL Fraps (Any version)

STEP 3: Open Uplink

STEP 4: Go to 'options'

STEP 5: Go to 'Edit Graphics Options' (The monitor icon)

STEP 6: Make sure 'softwarerendering', 'softwaremouse', and 'safemode' are DISABLED

STEP 7: Set it so refresh rate is at 60Hz and Color depth is at true color (32-bit)

STEP 8: Click 'Apply Changes'

**A prompt should come up saying 'Uplink must be restarted before these changes take effect'

STEP 9: Click 'Close'

STEP 10: Start Uplink

**If fraps is open, the FPS counter should appear.

Have fun!!!

**If this doesn't work, post what happened to this thread including:

OS (Operating System):
Uplink Version:
Fraps Version:
Programs Running while you attempted the above:
64-Bit or 32-Bit:
Graphics/Video Card/Chip:
Graphics options in Uplink:

** With that info, me or some nice person on the forums should be able to help you.

** I hope this helps you frapsers to record on uplink, tell me if it worked!b
