Why is it, I get caught and cut off with the lans and I have a long trace left, plus I get cut off a few times, every time I get rid of my criminal record, erase all my logs in my first trace, and everything, but then the game ends and says I been caught, any ideas how to fix this? It's almost driven me out of this game for good, lol

the active trace you get from hacking is not the same as the trace you get for hacking lans, because since you are intruding on the domain of the sys admin he will activly search you once he knows something suspicious is going on, take a look at the lan hud when you break into the server, there should be another line searching through the lan for you.


As for getting caught, are you sure its the LAN hack? have you just tried leaving the game on fast forward and seeing if you get caught anyway? best thing to do is when you do get the famous black screen, is to re-log on as that agent, it will then give you a stats screen as to exactly who caught you.

I backed up my savbe right before I do lans and it happends then, I restored my backup and just fast forwarded it and no arresting me, lol

huh, then in that case you must have missed something, I dont think you can get caught from a lan trace but I wouldnt swear to it

Could you avoid getting caught on a LAN by finding out the admin and getting him arrested? I'm curious for when I come up against LANs.

no, just getting him arrested means the name of the sys admin changes and the old one wont answer the phone, best way to avoid getting caught is to bounce your connection around from node to node, you dont need to connect i think just click on them
