So if I'm running Win 7 64 bit with a 1.7 GHz processor... I shouldn't have a problem?

Uplink has ridiculously low requirements. Any modern computer - even the most crippled - should have no problem running it. If you can browse the internet, you should also be able to run Uplink.
With that said, there is a demo available. You should download the demo before you buy the game and make sure that it works okay.

Lol, sorry. I got Uplink of GoG a few years back on another laptop. I have a new laptop now .1 GHz better, tried playing Uplink and the laptop started getting really hot.
