prisoners stuck in cleaning cupboard

I have recently built a new prison and started prison labour. Everything seems to be running smoothly except prisoners undertaking cleaning just stay in the cleaning cupboard room and just pace around inside it. I do have janitors and it is very dirty inside the prison but still they do not leave the room during working hours. They even create a crowd in the room and attack each other Any suggestions is very much appreciated.

Do you allow the prisoners to access the diry area, maybe they are just staff only zones or in another security level?

Actually I have not yet set security levels within the prison. And only my kitchen and armoury are set as "staff only", so I really have a dirty, huge shared area. I will provide a screenshot when I get home, but I am also a bit suspicious of a bug. Many thanks for the support.

Best is to make a screenshot of the whole prison in deployment view, so that i get an overview.

Maybe you have build no fence around your prison, so that the prisoner have to cross open areas?

Did you try making the cleaning cupboard to the minimum 3x3?

Maybe they can't work, because you ran out of bleach?

Thinking again for the bleach issue, the way to my storage is set as "staff only"" due to the fact it is across the warden's office. Might this be the reason that they can not go and get the bleach from the storage?

Well, the best way to find out, is to change it temporarily to shared.
But even then the workmen or janitors should get the bleach. I guess you assigned staff only to the storage, too?

No, only "the way to the storage" is staff only. I will try that in the evening anyway, it seems we don't have anything else to try

Normally, you should consider to assign staff only to the storage, too. Many contraband in there could be used as weapons.
Maybe you could show us some screenshots of the way to the storage later on?

edit: BTW: Do you have any bleach in your storage? Or did you see a supply truck deliver bleach?

I have looked at my prison last night and I have no bleach in the cleaning cupboard and in the storage. I have demonished and built a much smaller cleaning cupboard and still no bleach was procured to the room.

On the other hand, I have another wing which is the exact copy of the wing I have posted on my previous posts. On that wing I have the bleach in the cupboard and prisoners are cleaning

Well, it's hard to say without playing or even seeing your whole prison. Maybe you can show us a few more screenshots (normal & deployment) of the way from storage and delivery to your cleaning cupboard?

Have you tried setting all areas temporarily to shared?

edit: If you have more wings, do you have enough workmen or janitors to carry the bleach to the cleaning cupboard? Maybe you need some more?
