Chefs Won't Cook

I know this is an alpha game but it should at least be playable. My chefs won't cook I have set FoodEnabled to true and false but it is often randomly deleted from the save file. Due to this problem I am unable to play the game, please help.

This is also the second prison I have made and been forced to stop due to this issue.

I had a similar issue and discovered my 'deliveries' area was full (stupid mail)...once I made another delivery area , the cooks started cooking.
