Player Challenge
Hi all,
Being curious, I will challenge you to prison build.
Make a 3 wing prison (16-40 prisoners each) for the three difficulties with each wing a different setup.
Some rules:
- Each wing has 16-40 prisoners
- Each wing has security settings.
- The prison and wings should show style and thoughtfulness.
- [optional] Visitors and prisoners may not mingle. Not in a hallway or in the room itself

when im at home il show you my max sec, 100max sec prisoners and no mingling between visitors and prisoners.

I might give that a shot. I haven't done much with making a prison look good yet other than flooring.

What about a shared canteen or infirmary?
EDIT: Especially if the different security levels have different time slots for eating and reform program?

Hi Sonic,
Infirmary and reform programs are okay. Canteen .... if you can create a setup that works, then it would be great to see that. Its your extra challenge.
Its all about the details. You think of something that others didnt. Someone else does that too with their ideas ... We'll see the surprises when the first images gets posted.

Feedback is greatly appreciated
ADDITION: The mixing of security levels is at a minimum, while only using a single canteen and the visitors will never use the same way, prisoners use. I could even reduce the mixing of visitors and prisoners in the visitation room itself.

I'll give you some points based on your setup... Note that others might Judge you differently, so don't mind me to much
Prisoners: 3 pts out of 5.
Pro - 40 of each difficulty (5pts)
Con - Traveling of max security prisoners through whole prison (-2pts penalty)
Yards: 5pts
Pro - Nice setup and entrance, I cant wait till IV gives us sports as well (5 pts)
Con - None, well placed
Separation: 2 pts out of 5
Pro: Each wing at one side of the map (5pts)
Con: Max security placement / way to reach it (3 pt penalty)
Occupation: (work / freetime etc) 3 pts out of 5
Pro: 5 pts, (sorry Warden, can't you see i'm BUSSY!!)
Con: max security prisoners travel route. (2pts penalty)
Visitor Bonus: 5 pts
Extras:
Toilets: 3 pts
Pro - Nice touch to place a couple of toilets in the Canteen.
Con - You could have placed one in each of the workshops as well.
Total: 13 normal + 8 bonus pts out of 20 normal + 10 bonus
Score: 70% overall.
Remarks:
~23% reduction due to max prisoners, they get to see the most of the prison
... extra points earned on toilets in canteen, but not the full 5 pts.
I know i haven't covered all you did there, like the single canteen, but this got to do though.

First of all, thanks for the detailed feedback, I especially like the way you judge things via points.
Concerning the length of routes and the placement of the max-sec wing: I can totally accept the points you gave me, but did you realize, they are not allowed to go to any point beyond the canteen? I tend to not trust them too much with drills and stuff, so I usually don't let them near workshops. The workshops and rooms on the right side of the cellblocks are for min-sec and med-sec only, while the rooms on the left side of the min-med-sec wings are available for max-sec guys, too:

Although, no phoneboots and no visitations means a bit of unrest in the max security wing. That the reason for 10 prisoners in solitary?
You only need 10 chairs maximum in a common room for reform programs, so maybe replace a few and add at least phoneboots.
If my guess is correct ... -11 penalty points (1 for each prisoner) for unneeded unrest.

The ten guys in solitary are the result of my initial 'welcome-to-this-prison' search and the contraband they tried to bring.
Still, the visitation need would explode at a certain point, so I can perfectly accept this score.

Yup, reduces walking time and allows shorter eat slots.

Here's a small prison with the 3 categories (all self contained). There was a laundry bug, but adding extra beds appears to have fixed it. It holds 16 of each security. Visitors never mingle with prisoners. Everyone has a job at least!

Here comes the points:
Prisoners: 3 pts out of 5.
Pro - 16 of each, the minimum. I'll give you 3 pts
Con - None, you made a nice hall along the south.
Yards: 0pts (no score below zero)
Although yards are not an obligation, its a form of physical excercise, socialising, free mingling without work distraction.
I won't penalize you for this.
Separation: 4 pts out of 5
Pro: Nice wing division with a single hallway entree.
Con: No psychological reform programs (1pt penalty) (2 extra if you used a quick solution to avoid delivery strawls by prisoners)
Occupation: (work / freetime etc) 5 pts out of 5
Pro: 5 pts, No comment here, well provided on every lvl
Con: well done.
Visitor Bonus: 5 pts
Extra bonus points:
Pleasing to the eye: 5 pts!
Totals: 12/15 plus 10/10 bonus.
Score: 88%
Remarks:
- No Yards or Psychological reform.
- Minimum amount of prisoners cost you the most, although, to be fair the 8% can be ignored for what you did there.
=> final score 88% + 8% compensation = 96%
Note that there are some items that could be improved. A perimeter dog patrol for example.

I thought it more than fair to make a 3 wing prison myself, after Sonic and Fisher.

16-24 prisoners of the 3 difficulties you can take in, is plenty if you want to try.
My score: Mediocre at best, 50% score.
(40 max sec, i should have gone for 24 max sec and used the space for a better things)
