Is there a way to disable sound completely in the game?

There is a volume control from the options menu > sound. However, it mutes both music, ambiance, and effects. Also, you need to set it down to 1 because setting it to 0 does nothing apparently.

Do you have Windows 8? It allows you to set the volume of each application independently. Just open your sound mixer and set PA to 0.

I have windows 7. I tried the audio options in the menu and pulled "master volume" all the way to zero, but it had no effect.

Ok my windows did have PA in the mixer, and pulling that slider down worked. I rather like my games to have a hotkey or easy access sound toggle as I often need to mute them quite quickly.

I find it annoying that there are no separate controls for music. I don't want to mute all sounds. Just music.
