Black screen/total lockup on start (another solution)

Just thought I'd add this to the solutions being bandied about:

When launching I'd have my whole computer lockup and couldn't tab out or anything....needed a hard restart.

I updated the video and sound drivers, ensured I had openGL, etc. Nothing worked and was ready to smash my head against the wall.

Then I decided to turn off my firewall. Success.

I'm running COMODO, and found it works just fine on game mode as well (don't need to turn it off completely).

This may be worth a shot as something overlooked by people (like myself)
