Okay, this is actually fairly easy. First, you need to figure out what platform you are using. Your choices are Steam, Windows, Mac, and Linux. Once you have figured that out, find your mods directory. These are as follows:
Code: Select all
Steam: \Valve\Steam\SteamApps\[user]\darwinia\mods\
Windows: \Program Files\Darwinia\mods\
Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/Darwinia/full/mods/
Linux: ~/.darwinia/mods/
This is where all of the mod files go. Once you have extracted them, move them to mods, and start Darwinia. Then, load the mod and create a new profile (make sure that you create a new profile -- if you do not, Darwinia will play with profile = none, and no progress will be saved).
If you can't get mod to run, make sure that you did not bury it too deeply. Every mod uses a file called game.txt. If you have installed the mod correctly, that file should be in the mod's directory, inside the mods/ directory, i.e. mods/Insurrection/game.txt . If you see something like mods/Insurrection 1.1.7/Insurrection/game.txt, you have placed the directory one level too deep. Move Insurrection/ to mods/ and delete Insurrection 1.1.7 (for instance).
All of this information, by the way (and quite a bit more), could have been found in the stickied topic marked
