language/english.txt not found

Hello.
I'm trying to get my Windows CD version to run with the linux binary.
I get an error that "language/english.txt not found". That's normal, I have a french version...
However, I tried copying the "language/french.txt" as "language/english.txt" in the language.dat file, using rar, but I still have the error message.
Can anybody help?
