have you thought about releasing native 64bit builds? this should be only one compiler run more, but help running darwinia nativley in future 64bit envoirments.
the automatically enabled sse2 optimizations would be an additonal benefit.

My home computer is running an AMD Athlon64 3200 under Ubuntu 5.10 with the 2.6.12-10-amd64-k8 kernel.
I installed the second demo and I was able to play it just fine, loved the game, and bought the final version, downloaded the Linux client and everything ran just fine. I didn't even consider that it may not work on the 64-bit hardware.
I was able to finish the game (version 1.3) with no crashes and a great framerate for the majority of the game (I got some major slowdown in the Biosphere level when there were tons and tons of Darwinians running around.

Right now I don't have a 64-bit machine to build / test on. When this changes (minimum 6 months time), I'll look into doing a 64-bit build.
