Please help test installer

Postby John » Sat Jul 30, 2005 3:43 pm

I'm trying to get the installer to work properly on AMD64 distributions, and have made some changes to help it work. It would be a great help if you could download and test:

http://www.darwinia.co.uk/test/darwinia-full-1.2.1b.sh

for me, whether or not you have a 64 bit machine (the installer must still work on regular 32 bit x86s!).

Please can you try running the installer with and without the DISPLAY environment variable set.

The installer is for the full game, and will require the CD to complete. It is still useful, however, to know if the installer program runs OK or not. Please post your feedback to this topic, stating success/failure and what type of machine and Linux distribution you tested with.

Many thanks

John
