RenderLandscapeMode

Postby mickey-se » Wed Jun 08, 2005 8:26 pm

Hi there.

I'm new in this forum so I'm sorry if this has been asked before.

First, a big thanks for this game. It brings back memories of such Amiga classics as Populous, Sentinel and a bunch of other games that used to keep me glued to the computer in the early nineties.

I have just finished Darwinia for the second time on Windows and I haven't had enough yet so I thought I'd try it on Linux too. I tried to start it without modifications and got as far as to the opening screen where you select your destination i.e. Garden, Containment, etc. When I select a destination the game instantly crashes. I then changed the parameter RenderLandscapeMode from 2 to 1 and the problem disappeared.

Just out of curiosity, what does this parameter control?

I'm running Fedora Core 3 on AMD 2100+ with NVidia GeForce TI 4200

Thanks,
/Mickey

Oops!

You can forget about this question. I just found the thread I was looking for in the forum. It happened to be under "Windows Issues"

Thanks anyway.
