Crashes at start and at end of the game (Linux beta4)

Postby temsa » Tue Dec 21, 2004 4:03 pm

1. If lspci isn't in the PATH, then darwinia crashes like this:

Code: Select all

./darwinia
SDL Version: Compiled against 1.2.8, running with 1.2.8
sh: lspci: command not found
sh: lspci: command not found
Creating ResourceManager: 1.0

./darwinia: line 4:  3376 Erreur de segmentation  $here/darwinia.x86

last line, in english would be "segmetation fault" instead of "Erreur de segmentation"

2. When I quit darwinia, I cannot recover my mouse, I must restart my X server (xorg, logitech mx 510 in event mode, as explained here: http://www.linux-gamers.net/modules/wfs ... ticleid=46 )
not tried for the moment a gdb or a strace. If you need it, ask :)

3. The game itself is funny, good work ;)

#1 is due to the beta authentication stuff; if you don't want to have to have lspci in the PATH, run the sysinfo tool without lspci in your path and upload the new information.

#2 can be solved by running another SDL app (UT2004, UT, and Quake 3 come to mind if you have any of those) and quitting it. It's down to it occasionally segfaulting on quit. Another workaround (until the segfaulting is fixed) is to run it windowed (I think this can be found in the options menu with beta 4).

Using the window mode is OK, thanks.

My version is the linux-demo-beta4 release.
