No sound with the Vista Patch

Hey guys,
I use an EMU 0404 sound card on my PC and up to the Vista patch, I had absolutely no issues with sound in the game whatsoever, played a treat. But as soon as I installed the Vista patch, 1.5.11, and no sound. Nothing. Go back to 1.4, and I get sound back. Is there specific devices that have been left out of the Vista patch or am I doing something wrong? I have installed Directx and Emu's newest Vista compatible drivers (I'm still running Windows XP pro, but they are drivers that support Vista and XP)

I know this is quite a specialist question, mainly because the EMU doesn't seem to be a card of choice when coming to sound cards. The main reason I bought it was for music recording, not comaptibility though so meh. Any suggestions would be greatfully recieved.
