Vista and Nvidia

Postby Jaenis » Wed May 16, 2007 4:45 am

Hi

I found out how to fix Darwinia in Vista with Nvidia graphics card, just set "RenderLandscapeMode = 1" to the preferences file and Darwinia runs smoothly.

Found this by installing the game and playing a bit, then remembered that there is a patch and after installing there were severe drop in FPS (from 60 to 4). So I started wondering what has changed between original and patched versions, and that rendering setting was clearly a major change in graphics engine. And it solved the problem, so thought to share this information with you.

That preferences file can be found under this path Vista:
C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Darwinia\prefrences.txt
AppData is hidden directory, so you need to alter explorer settings a bit. (and there might be typos in the path, it was written from memory and I can't check it now)
