Spirits in Limbo

Postby UGHQ_DoubleG » Sat Aug 28, 2004 1:59 am

I took the radar dish on the first island and aimed it at the one on island 3 (the one with all the mines). Then I sent a couple squads through the connection, and while they were in transit told the radar dish to point towards the dish on island 2 (the one closest to the first dish). I discovered that the "souls" of the squad were stuck in the middle of the world, with nowhere to go. Also, repositioning the radar dish towards island 3 again doesn't seem to make the squad continue where they left off, so I'm wondering if my squad was killed by doing that, or is this a bug, or some delightful combination of the two ;)?

Try it again, and see if you can get a screenshot. By looking at the remains, we should be able to tell whether or not they're dead, or just glitched units :)

I tried this between islands 1 and 2 and they do in fact explode into shards die as normal. The things that remain there in this case are spirits :)

They're recoverable via engineers then...that's cool.

I just tested it, and indeed they are recoverable. I wasn't sure as they were so high off the ground, but Engineers have a magic teleporty thing for grabbing them :P
