Why does my game not save?

What could I be doing wrong? I create a new profile, then I beat the first mission Gardens, then I quit. When I come back I see I've reset to the beginning and my profile is gone. Am I missing something obvious? Or is there a bug thats causing it not to save?

Looks like this topic should be in the Windows Issues forum, sorry.
This was the solution to the problem:
