Do something about torrents?

I actually first heard about it looking for some darwin ebooks on demonoid.

Are you going to take action against them?

SUre, I'm up for stealing from big companies,

but this isn't fair.

There was a 'fake' version of the full game put out a while back by IV themselves, IIRC, that allowed you to play the first 2 levels, then gave the player a speech (which can be found in the game's language file, if you want to read it; I won't post the whole thing here). It basically said "We know you pirated the game, but if you liked the first 2 levels please buy it, and do the right thing."

I have no idea if it's still in circulation - I'd actually like a copy of it, just for the novelty factor.

It could be interesting to have, may be it'll be included on a Dev CD, if they release one.

There's not all that much that can be done by a small company like IV. Some torrent sites will remove the torrents if they get a request, but not all of them, and mostly there's nothing to stop reposts. The only thing that can be done is to encourage people to buy the game!

I do believe that all that was changed was the Containment outro text and the addition of the command PurityControl at the end of the script.

Correct me if I'm wrong.
