[1.1] Interesting CTD via coincidence.

Postby The GoldFish » Thu Oct 16, 2008 6:49 pm

Here's one that I'm not surprised hasn't been caught!

If the key enter down event is occuring at the same time as you select a map for at least a single player game, the game will crash out; even if enter is not bound to anything for the menu, and just with the default input options.

Steps to reproduce;

1) Navigate to the map selection for any single player game mode.
2) Hover over a map, and hold down LMB (it accepts the click on mouse up)
3) Release the mouse button and hit the return key at the same time.

Freezes up and crashes to desktop for me.

Experiences? It probably helps to have a low FPS.

Confirmed. Took three tries, but worked in the end.

Bah. You're no fun :) No blackbox.txt, though, and this was from the retail version.

Yeah funny story - you can just press enter anywhere on the single player map page, you don't need to time it with anything at all, I guess the lobby chat thing doesn't actually check that there is a lobby to chat in?

But it sure is amusing to see people try to do it a bunch of times and fail repeatedly.

Anyway, no seriously, I had no idea that you didn't actually have to do them at the same time - I think because I'm the only person anywhere ever who can actually do it in the first place.
