As for grenades, I think it has to do with the concentration and relative proximity. a huge formation will have alot of them in one area when broken off, and normaly is just the right distance to lob a grenade, while normally when shooting lazers they just shoot and run constantly changing the distance from the target.

i killed 3 huge formations infront of me just with my single formation... so 3 groups against my group.
threw grenades, hit them in thier middle of each group.. boom!!

With the genades, I generally force my MW into a formation, and then when i need it, cancel the formation they usally throw 5/6 nades then I make them go BACK into a formation :D
But sometimes this doesn't work and they don't throw nothing :(
It be nice to know how the Nade system :/
What makes the Tatic even MORE awesome (if it works) is when you got Rocketwinias :D
Insta-Gib time

My bet is it goes something like this:
(coming up with arbitrary numbers)
is enemy MW within 5 range?
- did i pass probability to fire?
-- Fire and run. (else run)
Am i not in formation?
- is enemy MW within 4 range?
-- are then more then 10 MW's within 2 range of target MW?
--- have i being ordered to move recently?
---- Did i pass probability to throw grenade?
----- Throw grenade and run. (else run)

This explains why formations get nailed when targets get too close, they typically have corners sticking out, and that causes enemy MW's to to chuck a grenade at the corner, and haphazardly hit the formation.

It also explains the behavior of why MW's tend to chuck a bunch of grenades at once, when they leave formation, because they all are in the hot zone and they all run their checks.

all theory though, don't have anything else to go on except based on what I've observed.

I know range is a factor.
I know they dance outside that range.
I know they dont throw if they have moved recently.
I know they need a group for their target.
the rest is speculation.

they WILL throw grenades at:
Armor
Jellyfish
spiders

They will sometimes throw grenades at:
anthills
other m'w's'
eachother
centipedes

they wont throw grenades at:
soul destrovers

the word grenade can also be substituted for rocket
and will instead run and scream

First off, there is no need to bump old topics, unless you have something really groundbreaking to say. Second off, you seem to have disabled BB code in your posts. If you edit your profile, you can change that setting (about two thirds of the way down, in with the yesses and nos).

I also did an experiment where i planted 10 dark forests in one area, and a multiwinian wandered close to the trees... It started firing as if though it was next to an enemy rocket ship! He spammed 10 grenades over 10 perfect seconds almost! And yes, the fireworks were beautiful from the burning of the evil trees... No laser fire either.
