Incredible brokenness on Last Stand

Postby Shwart!! » Sat Sep 20, 2008 8:55 am

Assault map, 4p. The one with all the islands.
Attackers can bypass large parts of the map, in a technique I like to call "mountain jumping".
Armours can climb mountains, and use their vertical momentum and 'floatingness' (as E Rac, my brother, puts it) to glide for some distance.
Allows them to get over laserfences in certain spots.
Thus, the large island one defender gets can be rendered completely meaningless, as such a jumping point is inside the red spawn area.

Honestly, I have no idea how to fix this, other than simply removing the mountain. However, with some effort, I'm sure many places could be found where this method is applicable, on a number of maps, so fixing every point would significantly change the aesthetics on certain maps.

Actually, changing the scale on certain laserfence parts might work, too.

Seems to me the easiest way to fix would be to make the laser fences higher.

Seems to me like this is fricking awesome - it needs great big HOOPS FOR FIRE to jump through @_@

OK maybe it IS a little broken...
