Magical Forests

I really unsure of what they do and whether they are good or not. They drop souls, right? What else are they good for, apart from this and setting them alight?

Plant a Dark Forest next to them to corrupt them.
That's about it.

You can also drop eggs near them for fun.

Yup. Drop an egg next to a magical forest and hope for some virii and either a spore generator or a spider to lay eggs. You'll have a field of (your color here) virii sitting there in no time.
Just pray your eggs don't hatch a soul destroyer, unless it's in enemy territory...
