One copy - multiple players?
Hi, I know I haven't got long to wait anyway, but impatience is getting the best of me...
I've got two sons and 3 PCs WiFied together - will we be able to play against each other using one purchase of Multiwinia or would we have to purchase 3?
Thanks

I guess that, like any online game, one serial cannot be used for multiple installations if they are online at the same time.
Yeah, I guessed that might be the case but I don't know what multi-player modes are offered. Can you host a game for a LAN party or can you only join a game on a dedicated (Introversion?) server?
In Defcon, you can host/join LAN games without the metaserver. However, you still need a unique key for each machine. If two machines are on the network with the same key, one of them will revert to demo mode. The day after tomorrow, you will be able to see what demo restrictions come with the demo of Multiwinia, and whether or not they are acceptable for LAN play.

I wouldn't count on that. Educational software is often licensed with a site license, but these licenses are often several thousand dollars, and are assumed to cover hundreds of machines. Also, IV doesn't make educational software. As for development software, again, IV doesn't really apply. This is a game. There generally are not bulk discounts offered on games.

Does this mean that people who go to lan parties to play game are playing the more or less illegaly? or have the people running the party bought a game for every machine.
It depends. There are a few games that allow you to spawn copies for use in LAN games. There are other games that don't restrict what you do on a LAN. And, of course, there is always the possibility that people actually bring their own, legitimate copies of the games to a LAN party. I know that's what we did when I was in high school...
