Post any cool stuff you made using procedurally generated techniques, or interesting ideas, questions, or links you found about it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Procedural_generation

[reposted from the 'suggestions' thread]

Check it out, even the Unreal engine is starting to use procedural asset creation (specifically, buildings):

Pretty neat!

(p.s if the file downloads as a .ZIP, rename it to .PPTX and MS PowerPoint should open it)

There are a bunch of websites about Minecraft's seed generation stuff, this was an interesting post on Notch's tumblr page

Either you are a very good spambot, spamming links that are actually relevant... Or you're just a cool guy who likes making link-filled posts without previously posting more than once.

Either way, cool.

Altruistic spambots are a new one on me, I confess.

No spambot

Just found some interesting links regarding procedural generation
I have not yet examples of stuff made by these apps

need some practice with Context Free to make something original not just modifications of the examples
I'm more Mac oriented, I have not found many more programs in this type of procedural genre.

Regarding sound produced by some sort of procedural generation: there are a few which produce "sounds", not quite music, imho
It seems difficult to produce music via this way

Photosounder: not quit generative I think, but it's a special

Anyway: I think Subversion can be quite interesting to be used not only as a game
But also as some sort of City generator and then many possibilities !

I have posted this in the Subversion Development Suggestions Sticky

A few years ago, in graduate school at Texas A&M, I took a class about generative methods - kind of a superset of procedural generation. Check out my class website at http://students.viz.tamu.edu/bensuth/Generative_Art/Generative_Art.html. It's all a bit old now, but it was fantastic fun.
