One game a year makes you affraid? I bought 3 games last month, and I was still bored :P (in my defense, they were all budget games, so overall they cost less than one full priced game)

...

Ohhhh! So that's where my so called "real life" went...

Hearts of Iron 2 still keeps tearing mega pieces of my life (to say nothing about Defcon :P ) so yeah, 1 in a year is still enough

I'm currently using a crappy pc, so can't buy anything new (except maybe the new footie manager). I have no money to upgrade / buy consoles, so just go about playing indie games and old ones I'd forgotten about. The list to buy once I leave university and make a decent pc is getting huuuuuuuuuuge.

Actually, after looking around a bit I'm currently trying to work out whether you need multiple cores @2.0GHz to run Red Alert 3, or if one will do. I suppose trying the demo may be an idea...

It seems there isn't one. Way to get people with marginal systems to decide whether to buy the game or not  Many will most likely just pirate it to see if it'll work.

As for me, I'm just going to go back to playing Multiwinia and World of Goo.

LBP is an exclusive for the least sold console of the 2 big so far. So I think it will do well, but it won't be able to spreadto everyone immediatly. It's going to take a while for everyone to get to it. If you ignore the music game battle going on right now, my bet is that Gears 2 sells the most. It's gotten universal thumbs up from everyone, and it's got appeal to the Halo3 audience who need a different sort of online experience.

Times of plenty but not plenty of time...

The time factor (that is not having any) definitely affects my choice of game playing and it seems to get worse the older I get...

So I look for more casual thrills like World of Goo but also retro stuff like GTA3 (is GTA3 retro?)...though I did splash out on "new" release PES09 simply because I like football games...though it was quite cheap in Tesco.

With election fever sweeping the universe I downloaded Democracy 2 demo and I'd love to get the full version but I'd need to go on sabbatical for a few months to play it...

Yep. Although I didn't realise the demo comes out on the 11th anyway... Could have saved £6 that way by getting it retail and waiting 5 days for the demo.

...

What am I saying, as if I'd ever want to wait to play the game...

I think they are totally shooting themselves in the foot.

We have had close to a dozen (Depending on how many platforms you own) huge games within about a week of each other. How can they expect most people to even afford them? Some titles are going to suffer which would have done well on their own purely because a lot of people can't afford to buy them all.

During my trip to England, I picked up 5 games:
Prey
Fahrenheit
Assassin's Creed
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
Mass Effect

2 weeks later, The swarm of new games happens and I end up ordering:
Left4Dead
Fallout 3
Red Alert 3
Far Cry 2
Supreme Commander Gold Edition (Kinda old, but it's always intrigued me)

Something tells me I won't be wanting for entertainment for a few months...
