A Christmas Tale - Part 4

Postby Feud » Thu Dec 13, 2012 12:43 am

It's the fourth installment of my annual Christmas poem!

A Christmas Tale: Part 4

Twas the night before Christmas,
And on the national mall,
The city's defenders,
Were beginning to fall.

The capitol was wasted,
The White House did burn,
And the Lincoln memorial,
Was a firery urn.

They'd been struck without warning,
Caught complete by surprise,
When communist aliens,
Began to pour from the skies.

Now from a few shatttered buildings,
And from monument's rubble,
The brave defenders,
Knew they were in trouble.

From the hills of Virginia,
Came the rumble of cannon,
Shelling the horrid invaders,
With near reckless abandone.

And from bases in Maryland,
The aircraft did soar,
Dropping bomb after bomb,
Killing score after score.

But still they kept coming,
The dread commie for,
From space they descended,
Onto stained redded snow.

The situation was desperate,
When over gunfire and shells,
Came a swiftly approaching,
Distinct jingle of bells.

And in a moment they saw him,
That man of great girth,
Flying just o'er the tree tops,
A roar shaking the earth.

Fire streaked from him,
Lancing into the aft,
Of a swiftly descending,
Alien landing craft.

It exploded and crashed,
Upon staging enemies below,
While over the chaos,
Came the cry "ho ho ho!"

And arcing above,
The red sleigh did bank,
With A-10s now forming,
On either his flanks.

He signaled the pilots,
And to him they did nod,
Then all three did dive,
Unleashing gun pods.

The night split with noise,
As their cannons did strafe,
Wave after wave,
Of the on coming wraiths.

Then deploying tinsel,
He slowed near to stop,
And from the sides of his sleigh,
Fast roping elves he did drop.

"Secure this position,
We'll need to extract."
And so they deployed,
And their rifles did crack.

To two more he cried,
"stick to my boots,
Keep your head on a swivel,
And watch what you shoot!"

So the small squad pushed out,
With a flurry of violence,
Until their destined building,
They entered in silence.

Through the halls they did move,
Till they heard a loud laughter,
Coming right from the room,
That held what they're after.

With hammer and sickle,
The aliens did try,
The fair constitution,
From safe holding to pry.

Santa stepped round the corner,
He rolled up his sleeves,
And said to the elves,
"make sure none of them leaves."

And with right indignation,
He started cracking some skulls,
Roping out entrails,
And decking the halls.

Then when he finished,
With a large candy cane,
He smashed through the glass,
And constitution he claimed.

"We got what we came for,
Now back to the sleigh,
Freedom and justice,
Will not die this day!"

And back they did fight,
Till their barrels were smokin,
Leaving a trail,
Of the dead and the broken.

Then each in their turn,
On the sleigh they did climb,
Then arising it left,
The battle raging behind.

"But Santa!" one elf,
Said with a cry,
"We can't leave the city,
The humans will die!"

"Don't worry young lad,"
Santa's eye had a twinkle,
"Turn that valve near you,
And give them a sprinkle."

And from the back of the sleigh,
Came a great spew,
Drifting to earth,
Like a spring morning's dew.

And under its rain,
The creatures did melt,
While the human defenders,
Never better had felt.

For nothing delivers,
Alien reds near such pain,
As a Christmas infused,
Dose of chemical rain.

And the city's defenders,
As he rose to the night,
Gave up a cheer,
Then continued the fight.

For the battle continued,
But they would prevail,
They'd fight on till doomsday,
But they'd never fail.

And as he flew away,
Santa called "I'll see you next year!
The constitution is safe,
You need not have fear!"

So with a jingle of bells,
Away went his flight,
With the echoing cry,
"To all a goodnight!"
