Introversion on the web

Postby vic » Tue Apr 21, 2009 5:41 pm

It's been a great couple of months for Introversion as we prepare ourselves for the launch of D+. As many of you will already have seen, we have a nice shiny new website for D+ over at http://www.darwiniaplus.com, so if you haven't already seen it, check it out. We're adding new content on an almost daily basis, and there's heaps of info about the project and news on how things are progressing over here at IV Towers. If you have any requests for information on a particular topic of interest, don't be shy, just write them down after this post.

The IV team have also been really busy writing a number of blog posts and articles for several gaming websites. Here's a complete listing of the D+ coverage we've had over the past few weeks:

The Genesis of Darwinia: Byron discusses Introversion's first meetings with Microsoft, the developers initial work on Darwinia+ and how the commercial failure of Multiwinia forced the company to rethink its approach to console development.

Culture Shock: Byron discusses the learning process of a small team as it works closer with Microsoft, and his own experiences scaling down from a larger company to a small independent outfit.

Marketing for Darwinia - An Impossible Vision: Vicky talks about the problems associated with marketing a title that defies normal industry stereotypes. What happens when screenshots simply can't convey the sense of a game, and how do you therefore get the
right message out to the right people?

Developing AI in Darwinia: Gary discusses the challenges and successes of creating the AI system for Darwinia and its multiplayer counterpart Multiwinia

The Challenger Introversion: Vicky talks about a common element that all good indie developers absolutely need in order to be successful.

The Curse of Darwinia: Tom takes a look at the Darwinia+ project from the unique perspective of being the financial director and not surprisingly finds some worrying fiscal patterns in creative game development.
