Introversion announces Multiwinia
RapidZombie just gave me another idea. How about the "current" Darwinia is the single player campaign (if there's no one online that you want to play with) and the star fields are the different servers?
The Darwinians have left in a spaceship and populated many different servers away from Darwinia.
What they found there was... Other groups of digital lifeforms!

I hope you can choose you team to either be Darwinian or Virus. And your teams colour can be red, yellow, green or blue, depending on which team you are (green viruses, red Darwinians etc).
More likely, all teams will be darwinians.
Actually, how many virus did noticed to act intelligently while playing the Darwinia campaign? All the intelligent tactics were done by red DGs. At most they kept some of the other virus around.
And personally, I really hope all teams will be darwinians.
They were even bigger than armors in the standard game, had huge guns, hovered, and could fire while moving.
In the aforementioned Multiwinia concept movie between four players, the final minute or so came down to a battle between two of these. I'd assume they'd have a crew of like 8-10 Darwinians though...
Heh... how long will it be before a "Multiwinia speculations" thread appears? (If it hasn't already...)

Yeah...point?
Armors then aren't what armors are now, but there's no saying the old idea can't be ressurected in some form. Since Darwinians can now operate in formations, there's no telling what other darwinian war tactics we might see in the game.
After all, there's never been a war in Darwinia before the virus came through. No telling what kind of military toys the Darwinians might have invented afterward.
