great stuff! can't wait to get my hands on the (shiny!!!!) box and downloading (and maybe also betatesting? :) ) the native linux client a short while later :D

Awesome! So if I find the same brand of CDR and write "DEFCON GOLD MASTER" on it then I can play early? Is that what you're saying? I could even burn ~60mb of crap onto it.

Edit: Oh, and those lucky buggers at the Post Office get to play early too...

well. when you write "defcon gold master" onto a CDR then something schrödinger-like will happen:
at every point in time before you actually insert the cd into your drive the game will and will not be on the disk at the same time.
so as long as you don't insert the cd and see whats on it you can brag that you own the game...

Frankly, I'm disappointed that a gold labelled CD wasn't used. :(
Uplink help: Check out the Guide or FAQ.
Latest Uplink patch is v1.55.
