Hrm... I guess I will assume that it was Bank of America being stupid, and not worry about it. Maybe they charge something for overseas, or currency conversion, or spite. Whatever. Stupid bank...

Come now, I have been using the term "automagically" since since before there was PHP. It has been around a lot longer than that. If I had a copy of the OED running around, I might even try to prove it.
