I'm running Ubuntu and installed it via the Feisty Repositorys. This is just the game demo.

Also running a Dell Dimension 3100 with onboard graphics. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Do you have direct rendering enabled?

Sounds like you don't have much 3D capability at all just yet.

A quick Google shows that you have one of the dreaded Intel onboard graphics chipsets. It may well be worth trawling the Ubuntu forums for some answers!

Glad to hear it! So it was basically a driver problem. As is so damn common with Linux.

This is one of the biggest aspects of Linux I want to improve. Some of the error messages in linux SUCK. And if you run a program from the GUI and it errors out you get NO ERROR. It's an extremely poor design that shows the system is still optimized for programmers and CLIs.
