Hey, just installed Defcon on my Linux machine. Two things that just happened in my first game:
1) Saw some pretty strange missle ballistics. I launched a nuke from my sub just east of japan on a silo around central russia. The missle went down to Australia, travelled through Middle East up to Europe/Scandinavia in a serpentine like movement...
2) When i tried to take a screenshot (with the "p" key) of this, the game crashed to desktop without any message. This one is reproducable by hitting "p" while running a game.
Specs:
AMD Athlon 3700+ (64bit)
2 GB RAM
Nvidia GTS 450 (1GB)
Up to date Linux Mint 14 Nadia (Linux Kernel 3.5.0-17 generic x86_64)
Running the 64 bit version of defcon (Demo version)
If you need further info, please just drop me a line.
edit: added [solved] to thread title.
Kind regards, Pal

Re: Weird missle ballistics + CTD
I'd guess it is a write permissions issue. I don't remember, but maybe Linux Defcon tries to write screenshots into the program installation directory? Usually, only root would have access to that. So make the directory (not the files!) writable to everyone.

Thanks a lot for the quick response to both of you.
Write permissions did the job
