2v2 [TUFT] Rules

Posted: Fri Feb 24, 2012 1:19 am
by Turgon
The rules will be standard Ace Rules, (slightly edited) and the stats will be done by cza and FF. We shall also go with FlexiTeams™

Post screen shots here: http://forums.introversion.co.uk/defcon ... php?t=8111

Rules

How scoring will work

Combined score of both team mates, not position, will determine the winners. There is no limit to the number of games that can be played nor is there a minimum.

Game settings

Random territories and cities. Units, victory timer, etc all remain default.

Pause should be an enabled feature.

Absolutely no aliases

Miscellaneous rules

Drops from a game require a restart if before Defcon 3, up to the players if after (majority vote on friendly void). That means if you have technical problems, make sure you fix them before playing Wink. Screen shots must be provided for results to count. There will be a specific thread for screen shots.

There are no 'hard and fast' rules except the 'posting of game over screen shot to count'. I expect most to play fair and with decent sportsmanship. I'm not momma kitty and you're not kittens; complaining is ignored. This is a tourney for the players by the players and is meant to provide competitive, rage-quit-free, enjoyable games with a purpose. All players that can behave are welcome regardless of age, skill, or IQ.

*By joining up, you agree to the conditions above and can not complain about them later. Razz If you have a problem with the rules, give an alternative solution and it will be considered.

EDIT: After the ready button is pressed by any player the teams are set. There are NO exceptions to this rule. If you are one of the 4 players you are PLAYING. If you leave for any reason that even looks the least bit like you are tring to avoid a game, there will be a -100 point penalty to your team. If it happens again you are disqualified.

EDIT: POST YOUR DAMN SCREEN SHOTS PROMPTLY PLEASE

Sounds good, when do games get set up, or is it "whenever everyone's on"

normally whenever everyones on, or not?
victory timer default? it means 45? in 2v2 random city games is it higher, normally 60!
edit: i think for 2v2 random city games it will be better to set the timer to 60 or 55.
pause feature at def 5 allowed for planning tactic or only for connection probs?

We accept rules, now let's start.

Suggestions:

1) Either use a chat room to set up games, or create a penalty system for people joining a game only to leave if they are not satisfied with their ally.

2) Game settings - max city populations

Good point Tobias and the rules now describes what happens if there are players that pull that shit 8)

Im waiting for Sen to configure the server. As soon as that happens, the tour starts.

And a special thanks to Sen for doing this for all of us :D

Turgon didn't put this in as a rule, but please try to pretend it is a rule: when your game ends, post your screen shots as soon as possible.

In the past, some people saved up their screen shots, then posted them singly or as a group hours or days later. It isn't impressive to suddenly post three wins together, it is just annoying. It puts the posted games out of order compared to the order one finds on SFCON, which I often use to verify things that aren't clear in the shot or make sure I haven't missed any games. And I don't want to have a nice spreadsheet going during the time I have to work on it, only to have to go back ten entries and insert a new row because you were lazy. There is no reason to delay. Posting a screenshot takes maybe five minutes. If you don't have webspace, get some. I use wikispaces because it's free and they've never questioned my posting of all this random Defcon crap. If you know you don't have time to post immediately, then give someone else the responsibility. Don't be a noob about this. Thanks.

I'm a little confused. We still do play the FlexiTeams™ mode, do we?
