My Defcon Soundtrack

Postby Maj.Kong » Sat Sep 11, 2010 1:49 pm

Hey folks,

Today I saw that my Winamp playlist "Defcon Mugge" has its two year anniversary. This plays normally in my background. Sure, I have this one or two times refined, but most remained included from the beginning.
There is a wide range of music styles, so I have a bit of everything. And the tracks fits somehow.
I would like to share this playlist with you, surely you have something similar. So you can get maybe a few impressions.

Yann Thiersen - Sur le Fil
Blümchen - Boomerang :D
Debussy - Clair de lune
Fleetwood Mac - Everywhere
José Gonzales - Heartbeats
Simon & Garfunkel - Sounds of Silence (Live at Central Parc)
Beethoven Symphonie Nr. 7, 2. Satz
The Doors - Riders on the Storm
Stealers Wheel - Stuck in the Middle with you
Rage against the Machine - Sleep now in the Fire
Jimmi Hendrix - Vodoo Child
Diamond Knights - The girl´s attractive
Jerry Goldsmith - Escape from Torture (from First Blood Part II)
Heart - Crazy on you
Fatboy Slim - Ya Mama
Dave Brubeck - Take Five
The Fugees - Ready or not
Blue Foundation - Eyes on fire
Sissor Sisters - I cant come quickly enough
Sebastien Leger - Little Bug
Michael Andrews - Cellar Door
Samuel Barber - Adagio for Strings (From Platoon)
Beastie Boys - The Move
Clint Mansell - Requiem fo a Dream*
No Remorze - Dark Malice*

Bonus Track: Modern Talking - Cherry Cherry Lady

Have fun..

yours

Kong

One that fits very well with Defcon:

Saliva - Always

The lyrics don't match as well as some of the others but the style matches perfectly.

Mainly any epic, but for games, it has to be orchestra epic.

When someone asks you to define a word, using that word in the definition is not helpful. What the fuck do you mean by "epic?"

Maybe he means epic like... big orchestral piece. Massive, huge, symphonyetic. An "epic" in literature typically means a novel that covers the lifetime of the protagonist, but I don't think he means it that way.

An epic in literature generally means a very long poem. For instance, Homer's Illiad or Virgil's Aeneid. It is possible that Yoshi means large orchestral pieces, but he specifically mentioned such pieces as a particular kind of epic above, and not everyone has the same idea about what epic means in the context of music, so if he wants to use the term, he should probably explain what he means by its use.

This is but an mix of series of epic music chosen, but for sure it's gained popularity.
