Disabling Music

Foreword I know that there have been a gazillion posts on this, but none of the mod links are still up, as people don't use reliable or permanent sources.

So does anyone know how to disable the music in DEFCON? I've been told to overwrite some of the music files with blank ones, but frankly I don't know how to make a blank music file. If you have a working link of the no music mod or a detailed tutorial I would appreciate it.
