You do realise it is possible to emulate an apple 2 on systems such as pcs, new apples, linux etc? Spectre has been around a while it seems, the apple spectre was released in 1988 if im not mistaken but the pc version I played was only released in 1992. Unfortunatly the company was bought out by Take 2 who now release games such as GTA.

I should note that Spectre ran under the Mac OS, thus will not run on an Apple // . You will need to use something like Basilisk to emulate the Mac OS (I would suggest 7.x).

I have to say that I was completely blown away by Tempest when I got the chance to try the original coin-op at the 'Game On' exhibition a few years back.
I think there's an emulator version around, but it wouldn't be the same with a mouse...
Has anyone heard of USB paddle controllers?

BattleZone: http://www.cyberdyne-systems.co.uk/bz/bzsplash.html
BattleZone had two forward/backward joysticks for the left and right track-chains. the above link has a game with exacly that! push left chain backwards and right chain forward for a quick left turn.

Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved is cool for a 5 min break from the main game.RabidZombie wrote:Not very old, but Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved is highly entertaining. This message will only be useful to you 360 owners unfortunatly...
Although a quick google of GridWars will link you to probably the greatest clone of it ever created.
