DEFCON t-shirt competition winner announced!

Postby vic » Tue May 29, 2007 3:08 pm

Our UK distributors are thinking about putting together some cool new DEFCON t-shirts for the DEFCON UK retail launch this June, and they'd be interested to hear what you think about the designs so far. Head over to http://www.defconvideogame.com/tshirts/index.php where you can vote for your favourite t-shirt from the selection. Also feel free to post thoughts/suggestions in this thread.

I am pleased to announce that the winner of the DEFCON T-shirt competition has been chosen. Congratulations goes to Dean Mccabe who entered the following award-winning design. One signed box copy of DEFCON will be with you shortly Dean :D

Shirts 3 is best for the front but 1 and 5 have great back prints (Whichever players have their names on that chatbox will be very happy  ) but the front of shirt 5 looks like star trek at a glance O_o

So i shall go with shirt 1 :)

How much would these retail?

I like #5 the best, but none of them (in my opinion) seem to be, well, all that "great".

I am with Ace. None of them really speak to me. I really don't like 2, 3, 4, or 6 that much. Of the other two, I like 1 better, largely because the design does not go onto the sleeves at all. What I think I would like best would be the front of 5 combined with the back of 2 on a black shirt. Or, the bomber from 3 and 4 combined with the back of 2, on a black background (the "Defcon 1 in 9:15" just strikes me as a bit silly).

montyphy will love the first shirt :)

i think green on black, would be nice, plus a pic of a massive beam attack was nice
or the world before and bright glowing after nuclear exchange exchange
or a nuked smilie on the world map..

I prefer the front of number 1 with number 6's back, but like the others, I'm not a huge fan of any of them.

Wasn't there a t-shirt design once that featured a single sub launching a single nuke?

Yes, Neothermic made some great designs for the DEFCON launch party.

There MUST be a T-shirt with subs on it...as a consumer I demand it

If not I'll buy the next FIFA in protest

p.s. Why is there a bio-hazard sign on some of the designs? :?

p.p.s A "Doing the shinyBonsai Manoeuvre" T-Shirt would go down well with at least 2 folk

I would actually suggest using NeoThermic's design, though I don't want to dilute the significance of the DLP shirts. Honestly, I like the bomber, probably because it most closely mimics the design from the DLP shirts, but is different enough not to be confused with it. I just don't really like the text on the backs -- I much prefer the "DEFCON: Everybody Dies" logo.

Number one seems cool to me. I do not like the biohazzard ones at all, they simply do not fit into the theme that defcon has. It is nucler war, not biological war :P

Number five is nice also, but I do not like the front, should make that more like the back.

Personally I think something more like the incredibly sexy world leader vector posters is needed for the t-shirts. Failing that, I had a vague idea involving the Defcon globe which I hobbled together as best I could from screenshots of the menu.

Ideally you would have the whole globe span the front and back of the t-shirt with the DEFCON text wherever is suitable, also a better explosion would be neccessary obviously...

I would gladly buy one feturing a "Feud Placement" on the front left breast (or any location, but that would be my first choice).

For those unsure of what I mean, examine these screens (I prefer the 1 at top over the 2 at top style).

Me too! Now that would be a T-Shirt.
