If anyone can help me..made dual boot with win8...dedcon cant work..tried all I could think of... ...when i launch defcon i can see only 1 dedicated server where i can join(2 players)

Looks like dedcon can't read that file properly.

Have you tried it with another dcrec file? Maybe try a fresh downloaded one. Or try and put the file in the dedcon folder... idk.

All i know is that Windows uses those cid and eid values internaly instead of for example 'C:\' to access devices/drives. Your second WIndows installation perhaps uses different values than the first one, and i guess dedcon 'can't find' those dcrecs... i think best try is to put dcrecs into the dedcon folder.

that's not a config file

but now it's being interpreted as one.

I take it you're trying to play back a recording since you passed a dcrec to dedcon. Did you try using the the -l option?

   -l "<recording file>"      loads a recording for playback

I'm no Windows specialist but I think you could make a shortcut to dedcon.exe but make it execute "dedcon.exe -l". Then if you drag'n'drop the dcrec (let's say foobar.dcrec) to it it will execute "dedcon.exe -l foobar.dcrec" and not just "dedcon.exe foobar.dcrec"

Edit: if you install Dedcon with the installer downloadable at http://dedcon.homelinux.net/ it should registed .dcrec files to run right just by double clicking the file. (Shouldn't it?)

Some other recording websites where not valid anymore either. Left only the links that worked.
