First, please use the edit button. My first inclination would have been to quote your post, then splice in answers to your questions. However, you split your ideas over three different posts, making that difficult. Mia culpa. I was in the wrong space to be posting. Flipping back and forth between D...

Yet more... I've been trying to figure out how to extract main.dat. I tried searching, but came up with nothing. It'd be nice to be able to use some of the shape files as static shapes, and the only way I can think to do that is to get access to the shape files which seem to be imbedded in main.dat....

Okay, I'm on to other questions, too.

I tried to put an enemy engineer in as a test, placing near a friendly control tower. The engineer dutifully went over and started to reprogram the control tower, then the game crashed. So, are enemy engineers a no-no?

Two questions (to start with)

Okay, so my first question is this: What am I missing with the controls in the editor? Given that the editor is used for setting up camera positions, one must be able to rotate the view in the editor, but nothing I do seems to do a thing about that. I can move forward, backward, left, right, up and ...

Thanks for the tips.

I'm chugging away...

Too bad about the New Mod Features, though. I would have loved to implement some of those in my mod...

New instructions available?

Hello everyone, Well, I've started tinkering. And I'm pondering a story line. And I'm exploring how to get things working in mod-land. It's not trivial, that much is clear. But it's all a matter of getting used to the rules. On that note, I was wondering if there was a more comprehensive instruction...

Now, to the other points. Regarding the date of the thread, it was started just before the release of the iPad, and after the iPad had been announced. Therefore, the iPad could certainly have been part of the conversation from the beginning. I think that we are going to have to agree to disagree on...

Yup. I read the license agreement in totality. I'd say it's even money as to whether they'd agree, even if I had a functional version working already and could show them that everything was beautiful. In that case, i have to invast all the effort up front. Short of that, and they're risking me produ...

...On the other hand, since this topic was posted, IV have released the source code for *winia. So if anyone with programming ability agreed with you, they could certainly create the port themselves (though they would likely have to get permission from IV---I don't know how restrictive the license ...

First off, let me apologize. I am new on this forum and it is inappropriate for me to start my first post with a lecture on netiquette. The tone of the thread just simply floored me. I am not new to web forums in general, and I am even a moderator and administrator on a couple that I frequent. Howev...

So, I may get more of the same, but I'm astonished at the thread cr@pping going on here. A user posts an idea and not one person posts an honest reply to his idea. Everyone jumps in to come up with a criticism or insult for the original poster. Not very good netiquette, if you ask me. Personally, I'...
