Forums need to highlight topics in red when they're older than a month... Honestly... This was like the 4th topic on the list and it's 4 times older than the one above it... All I know is before and after, when if comes to what happens to the save file. If he can find what triggers the shrink, he's ...

If I didn't think he was joking, I wouldn't have gone into such insane detail. I was planning on going one further; explaining to him how to move his mouse to do everything.

Also, it's only on eBay.

Log Deleter v4 can never be undeleted. Meaning that they will never see what you deleted no matter how hard they want to catch you. Great for internet pedophiles and Russian Terrorists. Too bad for them that only the player is able to use it. (So you can always trace another Uplink Agent).

Is authorizing your own arrest and then clearing your criminal history just to see your real name in Uplink's News old, too? Because if you read the news, it says PLAYER was arrested and may do life in prison, but you're still playing the game.

After losing the game, Uplink doesn't save everything that's happened. I know this because my backup saves are often a bagillion times as big as my Game Over saves. Pulling a rabbit out of your hat is much easier than trying to retrieve non-existent data. Just make back up save files. Every time you...

I hope you're joking. Never-the-less: ⋅  You buy the Password Breaker. ⋅  You reach the Log-in Screen of the machine you wish to hack. ⋅  You type in the user name you wish to crack (skip this step if you're cracking the admin account). ⋅  You run the Password...

But there's a commit button on every instance of that screen. Seems that we should be able to mess with that. Are there any mods that utilize that?

View the Records...

...and do absolutely nothing with them.

This seems to be pointless on any machine with only one account (admin account). Is there something I'm missing about that screen?

When I'm bored, I make a copy of my usr file and authorize my own arrest and do my best to avoid getting caught (without clearing my criminal history) while doing the storyline.

Could be someone posing as Proxy Associates.

I'd send spoofed emails if I were hiring a hacker.

I'm not sure if this should continue in another topic, but as I'm saying. Will using it as a bounce point while it's down make NPC's unable to read it? Even if this should continue in another topic, the answer may prove useful to the topic creator. New Post: To avoid more topic clutter in someone el...

Yes, however, the system is fried. You can't log onto it to read the logs, can the NPC's?

As in for future bounces through that machine?

Use the console. Admin -> Console : cd usr delete cd sys delete shutdown ^ I do that whenever I'm doing a delete-entire-system mission. I'm not sure if it makes the logs unreadable or not, but I'm pretty sure it gives you bonus points to your score at the end of the game. Also, when doing the delete...

Your best bet is to just do things in the order I posted and act fast when you get in there. If you can't do everything, do it in segments.

Hack, Attack, Retreat, Repeat.
