Didn't Gembe also tell people (as he was leaking the source) that he was leaking it because Valve deliberately lied about the release date and their current progress about how close the game was to completion? I could've sworn I remember a quote attributed to him along the lines of 'Maybe next time ...

I'm using Vista as well. Hopefully I'll be able to tinker with getting the data files into linux and running it from there too.

Look in sounds.dat. If you arrange the files from largest to smallest, the music files, which are generally longer and larger than the other sound files, should appear first. "pang.ogg" is the music from the DMA-Crew bootloader.

Yeah, I got the Steam bundle of Darwinia and Multiwinia, I'm going to guess that it could be in the Darwinia GCF archive in the Steam folder somewhere.

I'll definitely post again when I find out for the sake of completeness.

Removing in-game profiles?

This may seem like an irregular request but here goes... Is it possible to remove in game profiles ? There are a couple of (distastefully named) profiles that some friends have made and I would like to remove them, preferably without having to reinstall the game as I have already beaten it. I didn't...

Oh man, I love all the bootloaders, especially the music in them.


Is there a way to extract the bootloader music from the game data? I've only looked at main.dat so far and I was looking for something else at the time. (I'd check now but I'm at work)
