Have you ever played an instaspawn goldrush map. There is a very high chance that the red team will quite effortlessly hold them off after the first point, it can get quite boring.

I haven't really played much TF2 at all. :P

but the more bunkers you have the faster reinforcements spawn. So the closer you are to winning, the easier it is to win? How is this a good game style? Actually, Team Fortress 2 does this. When you've captured all the points but one, your respawn time is shortened, and your opponent's time lengthe...

Multiwinia just didn't do it for me...

Agreed a million times. Darwinia co-op would be magical. Multiwinia's lack of Task Manager, discrete levels, and campaigns made it not a true, worthy successor to the Darwinian campaign.

This forum is totally dead. :(

Let's bump some threads.

What happened to this patch? It sounded like Darwinia would get even more awesome. It seems Introversion have forgotten the land of Protologic. :(

[1.2.1] Forgotten Player Name

Yeah. I set my player name to "00Davo" every time I play, and next time, it says "NewPlayer" again. I've tried setting the preferences.txt to "00Davo", as well - as soon as I restart Multiwinia, it changes the file back to say "NewPlayer". Weirdly, my preferre...

On the Xfire chat today they said they only sold the uplink code because "we were selling everything else" to avoid bankruptcy, "so why not". Bankruptcy? Ouch. Also, what you suggest is a completely different thing, something that would have to be either developed that way from ...

Perhaps if Protologic was released as the Winia Dev CD? It could, like Darwinia+, incorporate both Winias, but have them running on one, hopefully stable, engine. There would be no more official games to snap in (unless IV change their minds and release a third Winia game), but unofficial expansion...

Xocrates wrote:Where did it said it was a fiasco? The game might have gotten less (early) sales than predicted, but that was probably more due to a lack of exposure than anything else.

Possibly also due to playing the demo first. The Multiwinia demo has a lot of gameplay in it, what with all the available levels.

To be honest I'd be really surprised if a third game would pop up in the Darwinia universe. It may be the most successful game to date (critically) but I wouldn't expect IV to stay stuck in that forever. "It's time to move on", as some would say. Perhaps if Protologic was released as the ...

The Task Manager doesn't work in Multiwinia anymore (there's something I could say about this but unfortunately it's NDA'd ;)). You know, just saying that is probably NDA'd. :P Virii still work in Multiwinia and can be teamless (that is, they will be on the side of the Evilinians). As I discovered ...

Multiwinia/Darwinia Compatibility?

Apparently, Multiwinia is very very similar to Darwinia in the code. So, when the Big Mod Patch comes out, will it be possible to run and make Darwinia mods for Multiwinia, by which I mean: a mod featuring the classic Task Manager interface, free spawning of Squads and Engineers, lots of Virii to de...

How about a DEFCON style countdown from DEFCON 5 to DEFCON 1, at which point the three Nukes are received? By then, the MGs will probably have a wide structure set up. Maybe.

Couldn't the Nukes just kill everybody instantly?

It'd be pretty easy to wipe out every MG right off the bat, if each player made a few deft clicks.

Re: Ruleset

Despite that, some constructive criticism: -You are very vague in a lot of areas. Even slightly vague rules get argued to death by players. If you'd like to leave room for expansion to the rules, do it explicitly, after defining the core rules and gameplay. -What are spaces like? Squares, hexes? -A...
